Stephen Bailey: Silo

Stephen Bailey’s debut solo album Silo is a fairly big step away from Bailey’s previous music with Mt. Mountain, which only acts to show his diversity as a musician.

Silo is an album that is stripped back, but in no simple way. A combination of indie and psych-folk music, with elements of pop and classic rock result in an album that takes you on a journey. The album is tender and sweet, and as a whole carries dreamlike characteristics. Each song brings its own unique experience and every one creates its own individual world – a mystical experience that takes a step away from the real world.

The first track ‘Mr. Fair’, is a perfect marker of what you can expect from the album as a whole, and the accompanying music video – shot by Sam Eastcott – takes a similar mystical journey as the song. And on a broader note, it fits in with the vibes and aesthetics of the album itself perfectly.

The album was recorded as it was written, which captures the essence of the music perfectly and allows for the creativity of the individual tracks to bleed through. The album is something that you can listen to over and over again, taking away something completely different each time.
