Flight Facilities: All Your Love Tour

Flight Facilities are party boys. Known for soundtracking our favourite summer festivals, counting down to our New Year’s kisses and filling outdoor venues like Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl – how would the boys fare in the Forum, one of Melbourne’s most intimate and iconic venues!?
Good. They did good.
Kicking off the proceedings right on schedule was Brisbane support, The Kite String Tangle. As the venue filled, TKST fans took advantage of the room to move. Getting low to ‘Given The Chance’ and singing along to recent hit ‘Selfish’ the crowd showed Danny they were very happy he made the trip down. Also, will Arcadia ever not be a tune? Doubt it.
Next was the main event. Off the back of the success of recent release ‘Need You’ the Flight Facilities boys introduced us to a fiery lineup of fresh hits, as well as bringing back the beats we love most.
With the support of literal angel Owl Eyes and certified groove machine Ric Rufio, Flight Facilities didn’t hold back – whipping out live instruments, turning up the lights and of course, looking suave in their signature pilot uniforms. The ‘All Your Love’ tour was sold out for a reason. The crowd knew every word to ‘Arty Boy’ (and there’s a lot of them) and were treated to a groovy ‘You Give Me Something’ cover. Who doesn’t love breaking up their night with a little Jamiroquai?
People watching during ‘Clair De Lune’ was a personal highlight. Now associated with Telstra’s Stay Connected advertising campaign, it was a joy to observe punters recognise the song, whip out their iPhones, jump on fake calls, and have their pals film as they created their very own Telstra ads in the crowd. Gold.
When Owl Eyes was on stage, we were dancing. When Ric Rufio was on stage, we were dancing. When the segues went a little long or the samples seemed to blend into one, we took it as an opportunity to grab a drink. Any restlessness was easily forgotten when the boys brought back the party for their encore. The entire room was grooving as the Flight Facilities boys took Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine’s ‘Doctor Pressure’ for a spin. The perfect close came in the form of ‘Crave You’ and with Owl Eyes’ sunshiny vocals, the smell of sweat in the air and warmer weather on the radar – the entire show was a welcome taste of a spicy summer to come.
