In exciting festival and wine news, Heathcote now has an official Fringe Festival of the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival which runs from November 9 to 12.
This is the perfect reason to take the slow way home from the festival and enjoy even more blues and roots, served up with great wine and food along the way.
Five Heathcote venues will be hosting an afternoon of Wine Food Fun & Music on Sunday November 12, including the fabulous Merindoc Cellar Door & Bistro.
The Merindoc Cellar Door & Bistro is located in a beautiful garden setting alongside the vineyard, surrounded by granite boulders. Gather your friends and enjoy a two course lunch between 12 noon and 2pm, which includes a seafood entree, followed by a main course of chicken with prosciutto served on a bed of couscous OR twice cooked beef brisket, roasted herbed polenta with a red wine jus. You’ll also be treated with Southern style olives on arrival – perfect to prepare your taste-buds for the fine lunch to follow.
After lunch relax in the beautiful garden setting and listen to the sweet sounds of blues from Luke Harrington and Wilson & White while overlooking the vineyard. Drinks are available for purchase throughout the day, as well as some truly amazing Sparkling Shiraz ice-cream in waffle cones.
