Authentic Spanish tapas in the heart of Ballarat

After relocating earlier this year, Meigas is one of (if not the) closest things you’ll get to the real deal when it comes to Spanish cuisine.

For seafood fans, dine in on octopus, eel (depending on availability) and various other critters, coated in delicious sauces and accompanied with even finer wines (have a look below).

Food is made by chef Jose Fernandez (who is from Galicia, Spain) and isn’t specific to any Spanish region. Just good ol’ traditional dishes.

Since reopening, the restaurant is located conveniently on Armstrong street with all the action compared to its previous spot in a mall. Whether visiting or living in Ballarat, this one should be on your list to try.

They were mentioned in the “top notch Tapas bars” in the Australian and have been known to make up a mean churros.

Meigas is located at 33 Armstrong St Nth, Ballarat and open from Tuesday to Saturday 12 – 10pm.
