Young Henrys present Best Served Loud

The Young Henrys Best Served Loud series is a string of FREE monthly gigs showcasing the best in local talent, in some of our favourite venues, throughout the great state of Victoria.

This month, Best Served Loud returns with it’s third instalment at The Standard Hotel. Bringing together three of Melbourne’s best singer-songwriters for an incredible night of poignant storytelling, the show features Jimmy Kyle of Chasing Ghosts with performances by Luke Yeoward – Music & Hanny J.

Maintaining a vibrant live scene is something we hold dear to our hearts, it steeped in our bones. From our founders making music and touring in live bands – to our brewers, bar staff and office nerds – YH is littered with functioning musicians and music lifers.

“I guess the idea behind this collection of shows was to support the bands and venues we love directly and create some really awesome experiences to reward the people who already go out to support live music in independent venues. Bands should always get paid, music should always be accessible and venues need to be supported to remain open. This is us playing our part in that ecosystem,” says Oscar McMahon, director of Young Henrys.

“Melbourne has always had an amazing and vibrant live music scene,” Best Served Loud curator Ryan Kemp says. “Our main goal with these shows is to put on a series of free kick-arse gigs that everyone can come to and enjoy some music and beers with their mates. We might even shout you guys a few too.”

Rolling on throughout the year, the Young Henrys Best Served Loud series will be rocking up at a handful of cool venues including Nighthawks, Bendigo Hotel and Northcote Social Club for an extra special soirée in May as part of Melbourne’s Good Beer Week.

Best Served Loud goes down on April 25 from 6pm at The Standard Hotel.
