With just three days to go, it’s nearly time for the Geelong Small Business Expo which is going down at The Pier this Saturday.
Geelong has a lot to offer in the way of small businesses, with creative, innovative and motivated minds aplenty. After their debut appearance in 2016, the is back next month to celebrate that fact; bigger and better than before.
At the expo, small businesses are able to network and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs. Last year’s expo saw more than 70 exhibitors and over 350 people attend the day, while this year is looking even bigger and better!
We’ve rounded up a few of the Geelong businesses you’ll catch at the expo:
Bearded Bros HQ
Your caffeine and snack needs on the day will be sorted by these guys.
Bearded Bros is a local protein based snack business also about to open their first takeaway space to the public – Bearded Bros HQ coffee, food, snacks and more!! It will be your fuel to explore the rest of what’s on offer.
Indigo Luna Yogawear
Indigo Luna is a new, Eco-Friendly Yoga and Swimwear brand based in Torquay. Their goal is to create beautiful and sustainable wears for all women, and are super interested in new technologies, and are constantly looking for new eco friendly alternatives to change the culture of the fashion industry. They stuff is also super cute so make sure you have a squiz.
Ket Baker
Miek of Ket Baker is a Belgian who has recently moved to Australia with her Aussie husband and young family. It took a year to plan and build the business where she bakes 100% sourdough pastries, which is quite unique worldwide. Using grassfed butter and being low in sugar, this indulgence is actually quite healthy. Ket Baker also offers boutique tarts and cakes. Miek is a chocolatier and pastry chef, working hard and doing what she loves to bring a unique product to Geelong. Yum!

Flowers are the bees knees, and they specialise in weddings, events, corporate flowers and posies. Invoke the magic of blooms and bees.
And that’s not even half of them! There are just too many to list!! At the expo attendees can buy or order products from the represented businesses, with particular attention being paid to small businesses who collaborate and connect with each other.
There will also be a Fashion Show this year, where they are showcasing local fashion boutiques, brands and contributors such as florists, jewellers and acting studios, along with models of all shapes and sizes. This year’s show will have special appearances from local fashion celebrities such as Susana Lopes-Snarey from Style & Life by Susana.
A fully catered cocktail party from 3.30pm to 5.30pm will close the day, but tickets are a must so make sure you get in quick. This will feature special guests such as Tim Conolon (Australian of the Year 2014), Daryl Reader (Bay 93.9), Lee “Stampsy” Stamps (Krock), Daniel Zapata (Zapata Org) and special guest speaker Steve Moxon (Current WKF Middle Weight World Champion, Current MASA Middle Weight World Champion, ISKA South Pacific Middle Weight Champion, Kings of Kombat Champion, Australia’s only signed Glory World Series Fighter).
The Geelong Small Business Expo is hosted by Geelong Women in Business in collaboration with Enterprise Geelong. Entry is a gold coin donation which will go towards the TLC for Kids Geelong Auxiliary, where every single dollar that comes from Geelong stays in Geelong and goes straight back to Geelong kids.
