Triple j Unearthed are giving budding musicians the chance to collaborate with Tame Impala, Amy Shark and more

If collaborating with your favourite Australian artists was on your to-do list for isolation, you’re in luck.

Triple j Unearthed have announced a new competition, named DIY Supergroup, which is giving entrants the chance to cook up fresh tunes featuring the likes of Tame Impala, Flume, Tash Sultana, The Jungle Giants, Middle Kids, Amy Shark, Tkay Maidza and G Flip.

These arists have recorded a tonne of vocal samples, guitar loops, synth sounds, bass lines and drums for entrants to use, including a guitar loop by Kevin Parker and drumming by G Flip, and all you guys have to do is download the sample pack and get to work on your own original track. Once you’ve made your creation – using at least three artists from the sample pack – you simply upload your creation to triple J Unearthed with the hashtag #DIYSupergroup by midnight AEST on Sunday, May 17.

Finalists will then be announced on triple j brekkie with Sally & Erica, with the winner’s track to be played across triple j and Unearthed.

Have at it!
