The Max reopens as The Deck tomorrow night after extensive renos

One of Geelong’s live music venues is set to reopen after renovations of the hotel under new ownership.

The Max Hotel recently changed owners and has undergone a complete remodel, with a new name to boot. Now titled ‘The Deck’, the official opening is set for this Friday, March 3 with a slew of acts to welcome the new space. Taking to the new venue will be Myles Mac, Planet D, Duckfat, Marley Swain, Jackson Ramus, Dean Turnley, Dean Ariff, Eddie Example and DHUNT.

With an impressive launch event scheduled, it’s a promising start to the long-running live music destination. Previously running trivia nights, pub meals and tribute bands across the weekend, the new venue will still host functions, be open throughout the week for meals and live music across the weekend (however the music will be a different offering).

The Deck is currently hosting O Week celebrations, and looks to be a new destination for university students. There’s also the promise of RnB Fridays.

Find out more via the Facebook event page or via the venue’s page. There is also a The Deck in Shepparton, which you can see here.
