Take a trip back to the 90’s with Pacific Avenue and their new single ‘My Hero’

Kiama based indie rockers Pacific Avenue take us back to the 90s with ‘My Hero’, their first release of 2020.

Blending authentic rock with their own indie-rock roots, the catchy track features tightly compressed drums, buzzing guitar riffs and electrifying rock solos’, with lead vocals from Harry O’Brien sitting pretty at the forefront of the track with a memorable melody that you’ll have in your head long after the song’s finished. Boasting elements of britpop, this song sees the band channelling a new-age Oasis – and we’re all about it.

“The song was written on a holiday, where I met someone that in the moment I never thought I’d see again and everything about this person just seemed to amaze me, the idea of ‘My Hero’ came about because they had all the beautiful things that made you be able to stop and forget about the world for a minute, and with music that’s exactly what we want to help people do as well,” explains O’Brien.

While the song alone will get us through this quarantine, the band have coupled the track’s release with a music video, teaming up with well-known South Coast comedians and good friends The Inspired Unemployed to shoot it.

“After tracking down 7 pairs of speedos, swimming caps and rashies, we took off down to our local Kiama beaches to start filming. We wanted to incorporate our local beaches as these are the places where we all met and started on our musical journey as a band.”

If you dig britpop vibes, catchy hooks and musos in speedos, this is for you!
