Season Two of Ricky Gervias’ After Life arrives on Netflix today

This one is for all you fans of the black comedy After Life!

That’s right. Season 2 has finally arrived on Netflix, welcoming comedian and TV personality Ricky Gervais back to our screens.

The first season which premiered in March last year saw viewers fall in love with the morbid yet hilarious show from Ricky Gervais that looked into how you cope with losing someone you love. Received positive reviews and high praise for balancing dark comedy with poignant and emotional performances from the actors, the show was given the green light for a second run not long after.

The new series, which landed on Netlfix today, sees Tony (Gervais) repaying those who helped him through his darkest times in season one, with the return of characters such as Sandy the new journalist at the Tambury Gazette (played by Mandeep Dhillon), brother-in-law Matt (Tom Basden), Lenny the photographer (Tony Way), graveyard confidant Anne (Penelope Wilton), Daphne the sex worker (Roisin Conaty), postman Pat (Joe Wilkinson) and, of course, Brandy the dog (played by German Shepherd Anti).

You can once again expect some emotion, some darkness and some brilliant Gervais comedy.

The second series is made up of six episodes and all six of the half-hour segments are available to stream now.
