Press Club are bringing their new album ‘Wasted Energy’ to Torquay

It’s safe to say Press Club is a band that has been consistently killing it since the release of their debut single ‘Headwreck’ back in 2017, and are once again in the spotlight with the release of their second full-length album, Wasted Energy, which dropped today!

Press Club’s sonic calling cards are all present on Wasted Energy; the fuzz-addled, kicked-in speaker bass of Iain MacRae, the razor sharp guitar tones of Greg Rietwyk, the merciless drumming of Frank Lees, not to forget the emotionally charged vocal deliverance of Natalie Foster.

Two singles have been taken from the self-produced Wasted Energy so far that you might have heard on the airwaves. ‘Get Better’, and ‘Thinking About You’, in which Foster recounts her experience with a stalker. Never one to shy away from what is uncomfortable, the song embodies a freak’s tongue, cooing unbridled down the phone line; abrupt, uninvited, and out of the blue.

Wasted Energy follows on from acclaimed debut album, Late Teens, which thrust the group into life on the Australian and European touring circuits. Its reception to blame for their appearance at dozens of festivals around Australia (Falls, Yours + Owls et. al) and Europe (Groezrock, Great Escape, Manchester Punk Festival, Stag + Dagger). The sold-out first pressing of Late Teens was shifted rapidly thanks to a swathe of high-profile support slots (Japandroids, DZ Deathrays, Joyce Manor), radio play at the community and national level, and a bevy of media support both online and in print.

Today’s album release is coupled with the announcement of a massive Australian tour slated for later this year which will see the band play shows in NSW, VIC, ACT, QLD, SA, TAS and WA – including a night at the Torquay Hotel.

If you’re digging their new album (which you can check out below), you’d be mad not to check out their live show!

They’ll hit up the Torquay Hotel on Friday, November 15. You can get tix here.
