Milky Chance have created a whole EP in isolation

Australian and German folk duo Milky Chance have always been ahead of the game since their smash hit ‘Stolen Dance’ stole the fourth spot in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2014 countdown. Since then singles ‘Cocoon’, ‘Doing Good’ and ‘Flash Junk Mind’ have kept the boys at the forefront of our minds and just last year they dropped their third studio album, Mind The Moon, collaborating with none other than our own guitar guru, Tash Sultana, for spiritually soaring single, ‘Daydreaming’.

Now with social distancing and self-isolation key in helping to reduce further spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) playing a major part, Milky Chance have released an EP of acoustic tracks from this new album recorded whilst in isolation. The series of tracks – ‘Stay Home Sessions’ – which were originally released as videos on the band’s official Instagram over the last few weeks, feature the band members performing together via split screen from their respective homes in Germany.

The band say “Since we all need to stay home but wanted to continue making music together, we came up with these multi-home-recorded acoustic versions… we‘re sending love to all of you! Stay safe everybody!”

The session also sees the band collaborate with a unique and remarkable choir of fans on ‘Eden’s House’, originally performed by Ladysmith Black Mambazo on the album version.

Whether it’s playing the world’s most famous festivals like Coachella, amassing over 2 billion track streams, or their 30 gold/platinum awards; Milky Chance have caught the imagination of millions through their unique style that sees the band unrivalled.
