Melbourne BeerFest

The time has come beer lovers – lather up in sunscreen, round up the crew and prepare your taste buds. The 2018 Melbourne BeerFest returns, and it promises to not only have Australia’s best craft beer but also some of the hottest entertainment around.
Beautiful Catani Gardens in St Kilda will make for the perfect host for a day filled with some of the best brews in the country, with over 65 stalls, with more than 350 craft beers, ciders and whiskeys and cocktails on offer.
Rounding out the trio of BeerFest events around Australia, Melbourne’s offering steps it up food and drink wise, with a number of delicious craft beers and ciders, even including drops like watermelon kaffir lime pale ales, lemon verbena ciders, coffee IPA, Gingerball slushies, Clover Honey Witbiers, lychee infused beers, and some special one-off recipes created especially for Melbourne BeerFest.
Just some of the brews on offer include 4 Pines Brewing Co, Bright Brewery, Daylesford Brewing Co, Fury and Son Brewing Co, KAIJU! Beer & Golden Axe Cider, Quiet Deeds and Yenda Beer, among a slew of others from around the country.
While we all love full flavoured craft beer, we also love great tasting food and Melbourne’s BeerFest have you covered with their food lineup. Enjoy meat dishes from European Grill, The Sizzling Sausage, Boomtown Barbecue, or indulge with Mr Burger, Flamin Skewers, Melbourne Paella Company and finish off with Blondies Doughnuts and/or Mini Melts Ice Cream.
What makes Melbourne BeerFest stand out from the rest is the standard of the entertainment lineup. It seems each summer, more and more festivals pop up, as do beer festivals and craft beer events. Combining the two is often a recipe for some of life’s best memories and Melbourne Beer Fest go above and beyond to create both a musical and craft beer scene that is simply unrivalled with three stages of stellar entertainment.
The main stage will include names like Australian blues musician Ash Grunwald, Melbourne’s own electronic duo Indian Summer, three piece Irish-Australian electro-house and dance music group The Potbelleez and Aussie DJ Kid Kenobi, alongside a selection of local names and legends. With a lineup like that, good times and party vibes are guaranteed!

While we all love great tunes, perhaps you enjoy some laughs with your lagers? Or you’re after humour with your hops? Well, for side splitting laughs, there will be the Comedy Stage which will include legends like Charlie Pickering, Bob Franklin, Dilruk Jayasinha, Geraldine Hickey, Brett Blake and Brent Watkinso.
The constantly evolving National Beerfest festivals endeavour challenge and improve your knowledge and appreciation of all things brewed while titillating your taste buds, stimulating your senses. The final stage takes a step away from tunes and into education with Beer Masterclasses. Here industry leaders will take the floor to give unique insights into the more intricate parts of the industry. This stage will also host workshops, where everything from sensory exploration of beer and cheese matching to innovative blending of beer and whiskey to create the ultimate broilmakers and cocktails will be covered. Representatives from Stomping Ground, Hawkers, Fury and Son Brewing Co, Goose Island and Yenda will all take to the masterclass stage.
If that’s not enough, the event is also child friendly, with jumping castles, face painting, roving performers and plenty more to entertain all those whose attention isn’t captured by the music, comedy, food and drinks available.
There will be plenty to see and do at the 2018 Melbourne BeerFest.
It all goes down on March 3rd 1-9pm at the Catani Gardens, and trust us, it is well worth checking out.
