Join Dami Im and Stan Walker for BIGO’s ANZ Artiste live streamed performances this week

With the current social distancing requirements and restrictions for live music venues and festivals set to remain in place for a little while longer, a new reality of life under self-quarantine has seen a rise in live-streaming gigs, an easy and effective way for artists to share some musical joy during these trying times as well as keep their skills in check.

Bigo Live, a global leading livestreaming platform is all about doing just that, and now they’re delivering the goods with ‘BIGO’s ANZ Artistes’, their first ever live stream showcase featuring mainstream local artistes.

Haven’t heard of Bigo Live before?

Well, the Singapore-based livestreaming app has certainly gained in popularity in recent times (partly due to the global pandemic), with more than 400 million users around the world now able to simply share their favourite moments, showcase their talent, discover others talents, and of course stay connected in a positive, healthy, and creative way. It’s a pretty cool platform for creatives gifting users the ability to gain fans, receive gifts, and make money, delivering a brand-new way to experience life in a digital world.

Kicking off tomorrow, Wednesday June 24, and then running again on Friday June 26, the ‘BIGO’s ANZ Artistes’ showcase will see the esteemed Dami Im and Stan Walker take to the virtual platform from 8pm and hold a nightly live stream for viewers back home, allowing them to not only enjoy the music but also interact within the platform, making this a pretty damn exciting and exclusive opportunity!

First, Dami Im will take on the live stream on Wednesday, June 24 from 8pm. Gracious, compelling, softly spoken, Dami is one of the most revered artists of the new millennium.

A virtuoso on piano, she also has a Master of Music Studies in Contemporary Voice and first came to national prominence when she won The X Factor. From there, her self-titled debut album and single ‘Alive’ both debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts. Since then she has released three more acclaimed studio albums and performed all over the world, soon becoming Eurovision Royalty when she earned the highest score ever achieved by an Australian entry back in 2016, and her single ‘Sound of Silence’ charted globally.

Prepare to be stunned by her powerhouse vocals as she shares an array of hit singles, fan favourites from X Factor and hopefully the the international Eurovision smash.

Later in the week on Friday night, June 26, Stan Walker – one of the finest soul/RnB voices to emerge from Australia/New Zealand – will charm Bigo Live viewers from the very first second.

Winning Australian Idol back in 2008, Stan has since earned a total of six gold and four platinum singles as well as a double platinum and a triple platinum single in New Zealand across five studio albums, PLUS eight New Zealand Music Awards too – what a guy! He’s also won the Waiata Maori Award for Radio Airplay Record of the Year 5 times, in 2010, 2011 and then 3 consecutive years in a row from 2013 – 2015. While his live performances are legendary, it’s his self-titled Ep ‘Stan’ though that truly put a spotlight on his talent as an artist and songwriter, containing six tracks celebrating his triumph over cancer, including a tribute to his mother for her love and guidance. This was soon followed by the release of ‘Faith Hope Love’, a five track EP is dedicated to the victims of March 15 Christchurch mosque shootings, with proceeds dedicated to the families.

With an album en route, and the recent release of three new compositions – ‘Mexico’, ‘Slow Down’ and ‘I Don’t Want The Fame’, we’re tipping that 2020 is going to be an exciting year for Stan Walker… Word is Stan will be releasing his brand new single ‘Bigger’ on the Bigo Live app during his live stream so you know what to do!

Dami and Stan’s Bigo Live channels are now officially online. Viewers will be able to watch Dami and Stan’s live streaming performance for free via their Bigo IDs ‘Damiim’ and ‘Stanroto’ respectively from 8pm-9pm on their designated nights Sydney time, and 10pm-11pm New Zealand time.
