Comedian and actor Jerry Stiller has died at the age of 92. News of his passing was announced in a statement on Twitter by his son, Ben Stiller, who said his father had died from natural causes.
Stiller first branched into comedy as part of a duo with his wife Anne Meara, together appearing on the likes of The Ed Sullivan Show amongst other variety shows across the ’60s and ’70s.
He famously went on to play the short-tempered Frank Costanza on Seinfeld for five years before assuming the role of another angry dad in Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens. Stiller also appeared in several films across his career, including Zoolander and The Heartbreak Kid opposite his son Ben.
His one-liners as Frank Costanza are amongst the most quoted phrases from the series and news of his passing has seen an outpouring of loving tributes from fellow actors, comedians and fans alike.
