James Squire are offering a year’s supply of beer for the best ginger dye job

If you haven’t attempted a haircut or colour in isolation, then you haven’t done #isolyf right.

Over the past few weeks, many of our trusted local hairdressers and barbers were forced to close their doors thanks to the Rona, causing Aussie’s to take the matter into their own hands with their budget razors, kitchen scissors, pink hair dye and tubes of bleach.

There have been success stories, but there have also been absolute disasters – and I say this speaking from my own experience chopping off my blonde locks with a pair of paper scissors (please, don’t tell my hairdresser).

Either way, it’s been entertaining, to say the least, and now one Aussie brewery wants to reward people for their commitment and willingness to take on the brave task.

James Squire will be celebrating the launch of their new alcoholic ‘James Squire Ginger Beer’ by offering a year’s supply of their new product to whoever can create the best ginger hair dye job.

A statement from the company says: “The brand is calling on Aussies to show how far they would really go to embrace the world of ginger in exchange for a tantalising reward.

“For those game enough, James Squire is on the hunt for Australians who are prepared to take on a Ginger Transformation, from dyeing your hair ginger, changing your name on social media, wearing ginger-inspired clothing to painting your house ginger, the brand is searching for Australia’s most committed ‘ginger fan’.”

Knowing it’s no simple task, James Squire are also sending a case of ginger beer to anyone courageous enough to make a submission.

The beer itself, carefully crafted with Australian ginger for a light, refreshing and zingy ginger taste, sounds pretty damn good and may just be worth taking on the challenge. I mean, free beer for a year? Someone hand me the dye.

Submissions will close on 1 June. You can enter the competition here. Alternatively, you can just wait for the product to hit shelves on June 1.
