Holiday Party deliver a buoyant pop track with ‘Let Down’

Delivering a moment of light and a welcome distraction, Brisbane’s Holiday Party have revealed their new single ‘Let Down’, premiered via Home & Hosed on triple j.

A hopeful and simple ode to being stuck in a loop, this is the next taste of the pop duo’s full-length album which is set to land later this year. Featuring warm indie vocals and absorbing production, ‘Let Down’ seamlessly blends to form an intricately produced electro-pop tune, driven by its disco bassline with subtle sonic embellishments.

“I was writing at home alone one night, listening to pop music and mucking around on a Casio, and I got through a verse and a chorus,” recalls vocalist Mel Tickle.

“For us, the song is about making the same mistake over and over again, like you’re in a continuous loop. You’re trying to break the cycle but ending up right where you started,” continues production wizard Luke McDonald.

For fans of The Avalanches and Beach House, Holiday Party have developed their signature junkyard pop style through homemade samples and a love of pop culture and have continuously come out on top with each and every release over the past few years.

With more tracks and an album date to come, join Holiday Party as they break out of their loop to give us the first taste of their 2020 music journey.
