Here’s the St. Paddy’s events in Geelong to get loose at (and skip work for) tomorrow

We're all for drinking with mates and celebrating a good time, so get yourself to one of these venues tomorrow wearing your best green attire.

For the celebration of the national saint of one small but beautiful country, St Patrick’s Day found its way far beyond Ireland’s borders to become a worldwide, annual event.

Traditionally a dry holiday, Irish law (between 1903 and 1970) made St. Patrick’s Day a religious holiday for the entire country, which meant pubs were closed for the day, according to Catholic Online. Today, however, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the largest drinking holidays with an estimated $245 million spent on beer for the day in Ireland – been one of the most celebrated events in the world.

Here are some of the best spots to get to tomorrow:

Elephant & Castle St.Patrick’s Day Party

The Elephant & Castle Hotel will once again be hosting its annual party to celebrate the life of Ireland’s favourite saint.

Anything green or gold, shamrocks and luck, and of course, Guinness represents St Patrick’s day – and this beloved pub party is sure to have all of it. Running from 11:30am right up until 9:30pm, local revellers are encouraged raise a pint to this famous Irish holiday. Along with the cold Guinness, Irish food and free entry, the party will be featuring live entertainment from Intrepid Soul for the whole day in the main bar, as well as an Irish acoustic set from Just Phil in the Beer Garden (5 to 9pm).

For an authentic way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, join the party, get your hands on a pint of Guinness and enjoy the festivities in one of Geelong’s most beloved pubs. Sláinte!
