Gypsy Smash are a group of romantic folkies and multi instrumentalists from the Surf Coast and Bellarine areas.
Their original songs are honest and heartfelt as one of their latest songs, ‘Journey to Happiness’ portrays all the colours of the rainbow, because that’s Gypsy Smash.
Their songs speak much about the environment we live in, its lands, waters, peoples and its preciousness. From soulful ballads to passionate and upbeat, their music delivers with strong vocal harmonies.
Whilst the history of the band is relatively new, their musical experiences are not; with Shane, Mel and Di coming together by chance back in 2012. Since then, they have been building their original sound and writing and have recently acquired Shamus on percussion and drums.
Upcoming gigs at Bellbrae Estate Winery, Tranquillity Fair, and Martian’s Cafe will be keeping the band busy over the summer months. The band were recently part of a musical production, “The Call of Home” at The Courthouse Theatre which played to a full house with other local Geelong musicians.
