Gerard Way, Coldplay, Rita Ora and more are auctioning off one-of-a-kind backbacks for Support Act

Warner Music Australia is doing its bit to help artists doing it tough during the lockdown.

The major label has launched its ‘Got Ya Back’ project, an online charity auction where music fans can bid on and win one-of-a-kind backpacks.

These bags have been altered, given the once over and packed with goodies and merch by local and international acts on the Warner roster – from a signed Coldplay drumskin, a Rita Ora AAA pass, and a t-shirt worn by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way – and all money raised will go to local musicians and the supporting industries who’ve been hit hardest by the global health emergency through Support Act.

Other artists contributing include A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Annie-Marie, Bazzi, Charli XCX, Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie, Morgan Evans, Grouplove, Rob Thomas, Royal Blood, Rudimental and Why Don’t We.

Nearly six years in the making, Got Ya Back is a follow-up to the wildly successful In Their Shoes charity auction that ran back in 2013, both being charity initiatives designed to give back to those that support artists – the fans – by allowing artists to create something personal for them to cherish.

There are a total 16 backpacks up for grabs, with the auction kicking off on eBay last night and running until Sunday May 17, at 8pm AEST. You can check it all out on ebay here.
