Geelong’s Lagoon reveal breezy debut single ‘Cool’

Lagoon are the next big thing to come from Geelong, Victoria, you heard it here first.

Featuring Ashlee Nexhip (vocals/guitar), Ben Hunt (guitar), and Zac Krillic (drums) and taking influence from bands like WAAX, Ali Barter, Yellow Days, and Pink Floyd, their chilled out, funk-filled, alternative music is emotional, smooth, and flows like a triple XL K-mart t-shirt.

Originally hailing from towns all around Australia, the group now call Geelong home, and have played several gigs to much hype already, hitting local venues such as Workers Geelong and The Barwon Club.

Lagoon’s stargaze pop blends seamlessly with raw guitar work and honest vocals, that will speak equally to your classic angsty teen, yet is mature enough in its chilled-out vibe and solid songwriting that everyone can jump in for a swim!

Their recent release ‘Cool’ comes about after a long period of anxiety struggles, and speaks lyrically of the constant internal monologue one has with themselves trying to reassure their mind that everything is going to be okay.

Lagoon have certainly set a precedent for their music going forward, ensuring their fans that there is plenty more to come!
