Falls Festival announce plans for a limited edition, all Australian lineup

The 28th year of Falls Festival is going to be one for the books!

In an announcement today, the Falls Festival team has revealed that plans were currently in motion towards their annual event, this year featuring a limited edition all Australian lineup for stops in Lorne, Byron Bay, Marion Bay, and Fremantle.

“As Australia heads towards the recovery phase of COVID-19 we have decided to move forward with optimism, and work towards presenting our Dec 2020 / Jan 2021 event in a way that will best bolster Australia’s live music industry,” Falls co-producers Jess Ducrou and Paul Piticco wrote in a statement today, despite the current uncertainty surrounding Aussie festivals.

This special “homegrown” edition of Falls will ensure that money stays in the local economy, providing maximum financial benefit for the Australian music community – artists, management, crew, agents, roadies, production etc – as well as the thousands of contractors and suppliers who rely on our events for their income.

Slated for December 2020/January 2021, the festival will also raise funds for Support Act, a charity provides essential services to music industry workers in trying times, many of whom have been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

I don’t know about you, but bringing in the New Year with the very best homegrown talent while also giving back to the Australian music industry who have been doing it tough through this COVID vortex sounds like the perfect way to say goodbye to 2020!
