Brisbane’s Bugs drop their first single of 2020 with ‘Can’t Get Enough’

Earning themselves a solid reputation for their heartfelt, honest and relatable brand of pop-rock over the past few years, Brisbane trio Bugs are back in full force with revealing ‘Can’t Get Enough’, their first single of 2020.

Serving as a bright introduction to the year, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ is 2 minutes and 49 seconds of thundering and irresistible pop-rock hooks, and infectious joyous sounds that are sure to get you up and about in these times of isolation.

“When I first started writing the song, it was specifically about attention in an intimate context – aka SEX – but as it evolved I felt like it better suited a broader representation of greed in modern society,” explains frontman Connor Brooker. “So it’s about the cycle of how our entitlement feeds our addiction, leading us in the pursuit of an unattainable goal or horizon.

“If you’re searching for something better, that implies you don’t appreciate the things that you have. Maybe the grass looks greener on the other side because you haven’t watered your yard..? I guess I just wished people were more mindful of their vices, and how they affect their choices, myself included.”

Following the release of their second album Self Help last year, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ sees the band’s own Brock Weston again take the production reins, recording and mixing the track, while Tyson Ruth and Studio Truth mastered the release.

With a triple j Hottest 200 appearance and an incredibly well-received Like A Version debut ringing in the new year, and having already toured with the likes of Grinspoon, The Gooch Palms, Sweater Curse, and TOWNS, music fans have been keeping a keen eye on the Brissy band, this new single is sure to sit well with longtime fans.
