An all ages fundraiser gig for mental health is happening this month in Geelong

Mental illness is something that we’ve all been affected by, whether it’s personally or through a loved one, and it still stands as something that could always be talked about more.

Through events like the upcoming ‘Music for the Mind’, it’s all about raising awareness (and a little cash for the charities) about exactly what mental illness is.

The event is being organised by local Justyn Green in collaboration with Headspace and is set to take place at Eureka Hotel on January 21, kicking off at 7pm. Justyn also operates as DJ GR33N, and has organised the event after losing two childhood friends to suicide.

As the page states, “Together we can make a difference, that’s why on the 21st of January at Eureka Hotel, we are all given the chance to come together as one, to raise awareness about mental illness and raise some money for Headspace Geelong!”

It’s an all ages event with entry an easy $5 and collection tins for those who are feeling generous on the day.

The headliner is yet to be announced, but so far some local acts have been revealed as PCPS and Josh D with more to come. There is hope for a Geordie Shore special guest as well. Stay tuned for more information.
