Alcohol-infused donuts are coming to Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo very soon

Cocktails are great. Desserts are great. So it only makes sense that they are mixed to create the greatest hybrid in human history, and thanks to the team at Drunken Donuts, us regional folk are going to get a taste of the magical creation very soon.

For the uninitiated, Drunken Donuts was launched back in February by a bunch of humans in Thomastown who clearly want us to live our best damn lives with their alcohol-infused dessert.

The sugar-glazed donuts, which are made with a shot of booze, take inspiration from Melbourne bars and look like the cocktails they taste like, just in the form of a doughy-treat.

On the menu you’ll find the Bailey’s, made with creamy Baileys-spiked coffee custard and glazed with chocolate; Coffee and Rum, filled with rum custard and glazed with coffee glaze; Apple Whiskey, made with their signature series apple-whiskey custard and glazed with apple-whiskey icing; and a Pina complete with pineapple-pina colada custard, dunked in vanilla glaze and drizzled with coconut shavings.

Our favourites though are hands-down the Nutella Cognac, filled with Nutella Cognac custard and glazed with white chocolate; the iconic Grasshopper, filled with creme de menthe chocolate custard and dipped in a creme de menthe glaze and topped with chunks of dark chocolate, and… drum roll please… the Espresso Martini made with espresso martini custard, white chocolate glaze, and drizzle with coffee beans.

And it’s not just donuts that they’re loading up with booze. Now they’re also selling alcohol-infused canolli, filled with the likes of apple-whiskey infused custard, creamy Bailey’s coffee custard, coffee and rum custard, espresso martini custard, Nutella cognac custard and pina colada custard, this is a seriously delicious twist to the usual delicate tubes of golden, fried pastry we’re used to.

Tell us how to get them, we hear you scream…

All you have to do is head to their online store, select the desserts of your choice, and then select a pick up location. They’ll be available for pickup in Bendigo on August 9th between 1pm and 6pm, and in both Ballarat and Geelong on August 13 between 1pm and 6pm.

It’s pre-orders only for the regional treat and while it’s still a while away, when the time comes to pick up your doughy treat is will be so, so worth it.

If you can’t wait that long you can always make the drive to Melbourne to get your Drunken Donut fix from their locations at 267 Ballarat Road, Braybrook or 326 Settlement Rd, Thomastown on the weekend.
