Travellers can be such a huge a mix of different personalities and interesting quirks. And as we take on this world, one trip at a time, we notice that we tend to develop certain characteristics, or suit a certain group of traveller. I think it’s truly interesting to delve into who people are, and love seeing what people are like when they travel! So, what type of traveller do you think you are? Let’s find out!
The Budget Professional – You’ve worked incredibly hard to save up for your trip away. And man, you’ll want to enjoy it, too! You’re totally fine with staying at hostels, maybe even couch surfing, and are extremely easy going. You love to party and might enjoy a few too many shots at the hostel bar! The hangover is your best friend.
The Assisted Traveller – You don’t want to have to take care of absolutely anything when you’re travelling! Itinerary, what’s that? Public transport? No thanks. You want to travel like a celebrity, buy the holiday package, have someone tell you about the major sites and history, and enjoy the luxury of not having to stress one bit. Ah, relaxation!
The Itinerary Devotee – You are a master of trip planning. You’ve got it all worked out! Need to book a flight? Too easy. You know the ins and outs of the online travelling world like the back of your hand. You’re awfully organised, have all of your packing done and outfits prepared for each day and different weather situations. You are someone people rely on when travelling! (You might also own a selfie stick!).
The Sponge – You’re totally prepared for holidays; it’s like a walk in the park for you! You’ve learned the basic phrases of the languages needed for the countries you’re visiting, and have your trusty Lonely Planet guide nearby – just in case. You’re friendly, open-minded and love learning facts. Museums and history sites get you excited! In fact, you won’t be surprised when other tourists start asking you for directions!
The Dare Devil – Travelling is a serious adventure for you! Everywhere you go will have a major adrenalin situation involved. This could include skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, intense quad biking, or even crazy eating challenges. You’re happily a lone wolf, and you do what you want. You meet a lot of people along the way, and love chatting about slightly stupid travelling stories with new friends. You’ll most likely travel very casually with only a backpack, and you’re so chilled that sometimes you’re ‘that guy’ that loses their passport or luggage, sometimes more than once!
The Cruiser – I like to think this easy going character is a mixture of all of the above. You appreciate everything as it comes, you’ll give things a go, and you’ll have a general idea of where you want to go, but you’ll figure it out once you get there. You’ll have some plans and ideas, and take a selfie every now and then, but you’ll be there along for the ride, and you’ll enjoy it!
