Forte Magazine has joined forces with local Geelong Lad’s Nick Rushbrook and Olly Friend to bring you ‘Nature Sessions’. Each episode will display one original song by a local musician who will be performing in natural surrounds somewhere in the Geelong Region. Rushbrook and Friend wanted to bring their love of all things music and film together in creating something unique that will showcase some of Geelong’s hidden artists and beautiful scenery.
Forte has come on board with Friendly Rushbrook to create Ten episodes to be released fortnightly. The concept of Nature Sessions is to show off some of the area’s best musicians in a natural environment and capture the authentic sound they create with only their voice and instruments. By recording the artist in a natural environment, the sound captured will be different to that of being in a studio, giving a more natural, raw sound.
Nature Sessions is designed to celebrate the diverse talent that the Geelong area has to offer. Keeping with Forte Magazine’s love for local, Nature Sessions will display and celebrate regional and local musicians, supporting them in the hope of getting their work noticed by as many people as possible.
The first artist to debut the Nature Sessions will be Jordan Riddle, a local guy who likens his music to Acoustic, Folk, and Indie genres. Jordan will perform a song from his debut record, Beyond the Pines, titled ‘Here’. Jordan’s voice captures great melodies with his peaceful tone and honest lyrics; his voice works great amongst the open air in the Geelong Botanical Gardens. Riddle’s musical influence’s include the likes of Matt Corby and City and Colour, making it easy to see how his whimsical tone and catchy lyrics could be likened to artists like these. Having already released an album and a profile on Triple J Unearthed, it’s not hard to see that Jordan Riddle will be creating big things in the coming future.
