Mark Steiner’s Many Problems

From the heart of Oslo’s underground music scene comes Mark Steiner & His Problems. His heart, it would seem, can also be found in many other places – New York, Paris, Berlin and Melbourne to name just a few. His connection with Australia is greater than just playing gigs – in 2006 he contributed a track to a Rowland S. Howard tribute CD. His live musical guests, meanwhile, include Spencer P. Jones and Rosie Westbrook. Going back a while, in 1997, Mark started a band called Piker Ryan’s Folly. A short life it was, with the band playing their final gig at the legendary CBGB in 2000. In 2001, the ex-New Yorker moved to Oslo. His latest release is Saudade. The Bridge, Castlemaine – January 8.
