City of Melbourne is offering music grants up to $20,000

If you’re a musician, artist or creative working in any art form, you’re in luck. The City of Melbourne is opening its annual arts grants round on Friday May 24, with up to $20,000 per grant on offer.

The grants are available to artists or organisations looking for support to deliver a project or residency. Hopeful applicants can be based anywhere, but the funding must result in a public outcome within the City of Melbourne boundary. If you’re not quite sure how to ask for the cash in a convincing way, a number of grant writing workshops are being held over May and June.

“Whether you compose, sculpt, dance, write, perform, film or produce, we want to see your application and hear about your project,” said City of Melbourne councillor Rohan Leppert.

The grant round closes on Monday June 24. For more information, head to the City of Melbourne website. Applicants located anywhere can apply, as long as the project has a public outcome located in the City of Melbourne.
