Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes: End of Suffering

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes third studio album End of Suffering is an aptly named rock’n’ rollercoaster of highs and lows. Named after the Buddhist term for ‘enlightenment’, the album successfully reflects that message showing substantial emotional growth and musical progression from their previous releases.

The album was made over just a six month period in gloomy England, however, the range of emotion and lyrical honesty makes it feel as if it encompasses a much larger space of time.

Throughout the album, Frank Carter’s vocals seem to dance around guitar riffs and beating drums delivering powerful messages of love, heartbreak and despair. Catchy opening track ‘Why A Butterfly Cant Love A Spider’ drives the album along with hard beating percussion during its sometimes meandering melancholic songs.

The songs ‘Anxiety’ and ‘Angel Wings’ sensitively touch on the grungier points of life discussing mental illness and a tendency to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. Despite the large array of lows discussed in this album, there are even greater highs. The most notable of which is a huge feature from musical god and Rage Against the Machine legend Tom Morello on the track ‘Tyrant King’.

The album will be released Friday 3rd May 2019 on International Death Cult.
