Lords of Chaos comes to Geelong for one night only

If you’ve ever been interested in the dark history of the black metal genre and the infamous Norwegian black metal scene in the 90’s, then we have found the film for you.

Based on the book of the same name, Lords of Chaos (a book that chronicled a series of shocking crimes that shook Norway in the early 1990s, committed by the founders of the black metal bands MAYHEM and BURZUM) is a coming of age story about a highly ambitious black metal band that rocked Europe with endless scandals, murders, and arson before the days of ‘going viral’.

And now it’s screening across Australia and New Zealand for one night only – and Geelong managed to make the cut!

The film will be screened at Geelong’s Village Cinema’s on February 22 at 9pm.

Combining a realistic look at the oft-neglected world of metal, a beautiful Norwegian setting, the blackest of black humour and brutally visceral scenes of violence, LORDS OF CHAOS may be the rare film that is truly, uniquely ‘black metal’.

Starring Rory Culkin (Macaulay’s brother) as Mayhem founder Euronymous, Sky Ferreira as Euronymous’s girlfriend, Anthony De La Torre as Mayhem’s drummer Hellhammer and Emory Cohen as Varg Vikernes, who ended up in prison for killing Euronymous, this is a must see for any metal heads out there.
