Geelong's National Wool Museum are hosting a Retro Cocktail Party

Though we can do without the indoor chain-smoking and martini lunches, the swinging ’60s were certainly a good time for throwing a party. Who doesn’t love bouffant hairdos, dapper men in skinny ties and cocktails that pack a serious punch?
Well if you’re a fan of the era (or just a fan of a good party), we’ve found the event just for you!
Next Saturday (November 24) The National Wool Museum is presenting the Marion Hall Best Closing Night Retro Party – in conjunction with the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival. A retro cocktail party!? How perfect.
Frock up with your favourite retro outfit, and dance the night away at the National Wool Museum with live music from acclaimed jazz-soul band Soul Chic and exclusive cocktails from the 18th Amendment bar (you just know they are going to be good!)
You can also learn a few new dance moves on the night with retro dance teacher Ms Bon Bon from Bella-Esque Dance and experience the retro stylings of one of Australia’s top independent interior designers, Marion Hall Best (exhibition closes 25 November 2018, see more info below).
Ticket includes access to the event, exhibitions and 1 x delicious cocktail. Additional cocktails available for purchase.
This event is strictly 18+. Bookings essential via Eventbrite.
Check out the event on FB here.

This event celebrates the Marion Hall Best: Interiors exhibition currently on show at the Wool Museum.
Marion Hall Best: Interiors charts the colourful career of Marion Hall Best (1905-1988), one of Australia’s first and most influential independent interior designers, displaying original furniture, fabrics, furnishings and design schemes. Best’s career spanned four decades from the mid–1930s, a period of transition from the department store decorators and art furnishers of the 1920s, to the independent professional designers of today.
Her interiors vibrated with bold colours and patterns and a signature of her commissioned interiors was her vibrant glazed painted finishes on walls and ceilings. Best introduced the latest of international modernism in design to Australians through her shops in Rowe Street Sydney and Queen Street Woollahra, which were an inspiration to the local design profession. Marion Hall Best: Interiors is a travelling exhibition from Sydney Living Museums.
