Olivers Army is a band littered with the music and ramblings of Barossa Valley-born singer-songwriter Ryan Oliver. It’s also the name of an Elvis Costello song. Ryan’s musical journey began around the same time of his travelling journey, with the aspiring songman penning tunes as he travelled North American as a teenager. On his return to his hometown of Adelaide, Ryan put his tunes to work. The band released their self-titled debut EP in 2010, followed by II in 2012. They have also managed to fill in time by supporting acts including Big Scary, Deep Sea Arcade, Eagle and the Worm and Diesel. Nothing Ever Really Stays the Same is their fresh as fresh debut full-length. Babushka Bar, Ballarat – September 20.
