There's a new one-day art and music festival heading to Melbourne

This February Melbourne will welcome Something Unlimited; a boundless experience that’s the first of it’s kind, in a venue that’s been aching for a party since it’s creation in 1887. An unimaginable lineup of bands and DJs that uncrosses arms and holsters egos, with visual art as immersive and unexpected as Coltrane’s heroin drenched licks.
Sounds pretty good already huh?
Held in the heritage listed Northcote Town Hall (yes the one with the ten metre columns lining the entrance) for February 16, this ambitious event is the brainchild of five seasoned creators (from the likes of Hopkins Creek, Inner Varnika, Strawberry Fields, Lucid, Common Ground, New Years Eve On The Hill and Neat Lawn) determined to pilot 1200 adventurers into unchartered territories, on a journey that leaves no waste and no trace, other than the searing hot memory of a damn fine day.
With a local and international lineup of bands and DJs strong enough to melt pure
diamond, it’s safe to say Something Unlimited has your soundtrack covered. We can’t say who’s on the bill just yet, but trust us you’ll froth it.
Music, tick. Now the arts. Something Unlimited welcomes branding, art direction and spiritual leadership from the twisted minds at Confetti Studio. Their limitless artistic visions define the madness that is this dream machine. The Town Hall’s labyrinth of side rooms play host to a variety of visual and immersive experiences, with conceptual design from mad scientist Mikaela Stafford (featured in photo). Her experience building installations for Soft Centre and Lounge mean she is well placed to knit your mind into a sweater of psychological mystery. Arts, tick.
This journey wouldn’t be complete without flavours to match. Something Unlimited welcomes a variety of local traders to get your tastebuds dancing, with an array of premium food and beverage options to suit all requirements. Oysters on the dfloor, anyone?
They’re shooting for the stars with this one, but for good reason.
It’s truly SOMETHING UNLIMITED.
When & Where: Northcote Town Hall, February 16 2019.
