Chrissy Amphlett announced as The Age Music Victoria 2018 Hall Of Fame Inductee

In exciting news for Geelong, as part of The Age Music Victoria Awards 2018, The Age and Music Victoria are proud to announce the induction of Divinyls frontwoman and Victorian legend Chrissy Amphlett, after recently inducting Molly Meldrum at his statue unveiling in Richmond.
Each year, The Awards are proud to induct local legends into The Age Music Victoria Awards Hall of Fame, recognising significant contributions to Victorian music and a commitment to sustaining the unique cultural fabric of our state – and this year it’s for our girl Chrissy!
The induction will be accompanied by a special performance from Ella Hooper with Dallas Frasca and speech from Little Pattie. Chrissy and Molly’s Hall of Fame entries join past inductee’s Triple R 102.7FM, John Farnham, AC/DC, Olivia Newton John, Archie Roach, Paul Kelly just to name a few.
“Chrissy has a Melbourne city street named after her and a mural in her hometown of Geelong, and it’s about time she was inducted into the Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame,” says Music Victoria CEO Patrick Donovan. “While she may have left us five years ago, her influence lives on in acts such as Amyl and the Sniffers, Ella Hooper and Dallas Frasca.”
Hosted by beloved radio presenters Lyndelle Wilkinson and Chris Gill, this year’s event will also feature live performances from Baker Boy, Mildlife, Evelyn Ida Morris, Sampa The Great and Angie McMahon, performing their own standout tracks from the past 12 months.
The Age Music Victoria Awards goes down on Wednesday 21 November 2018. You can still cast your vote here.
