Humans in Geelong are hosting an expo this Sunday

The second Humans in Geelong Expo is set to hit Deakin Waterfront this Sunday 7 October 2018, from 10am – 3pm.
Hosted by the Humans in Geelong – a team of volunteers telling the positive stories of our region – this is a free community event showcasing Geelong’s amazing locals. The event aims to inspire, connect and strengthen the Geelong community. Visitors can expect guest speakers, exhibitors, live music and plenty of fun for the kids.
Within the expo, you will be surrounded by all things that are inspiring, connecting and strengthening for our community. This involves 44 inspirational exhibitors in the Gallery (including Liams Art, Geelong Sustainability, Creative Geelong, Cherished Pets and more),
four thought-provoking Speakers in the Lecture Theatre(one of them being K Rock legend and Forte contributor Lee Stamps), two rooms of additional amazing speakers/workshops, along with uplifting live performances in the courtyard!
If you are keen to check out the speakers, you will hear from Nasir Sobhani ‘The Street’s Barber’, Professor Steven Allender from GLOBE Deakin Uni on how to combat the rising rates in childhood obesity and other complex social problems with a whole community approach, and Andrea Downie from Project Thrive who will be chatting about wellbeing for us and our families.
In terms of live performances, you will enjoy the sounds of Dazzling Dan, Geelong favourite Sweethearts, With One Voice Choir, as well as the Latin Dance Group.
There will even be some prizes and giveaways on the day including a $250 voucher from Helloworld Travel Waurn Ponds.
Last year saw 1500 people attend, and this year is looking to be even better.
It all goes down at Deakin University Waterfront Campus this Sunday from 10am. Check out the FB event here.
