Extra Support Acts partners Aussie superstars with emerging artists

EXTRA® Support Acts is the awesome new program created to support Australia’s up and coming musicians by transforming pre-roll ads on YouTube in to a digital support stage.
The Support Acts program has paired 16 of Australia’s emerging musical talent with Aussie music royalty and absolute legends 5 Seconds of Summer, Alison Wonderland, The Rubens and 360, who’ll play an active role in promoting and raising the profile for the grassroots talent involved in the program.
Through an innovative use of YouTube’s pre-roll ads, the headline artists are transforming the ads that run before their videos in to digital Support Act slots, exposing these support acts to audiences of hundreds of thousands of followers – a platform that essentially let’s emerging artists go view-for-view with Australian music royalty.
The program is calling on Australians to show their support for these grassroots talent and cast their vote by visiting the Support Acts hub on YouTube and engaging with the 16 up and coming musicians’ music videos.

It’s clear the Aussie music scene is filled to the brim with amazing talent, and this is one way of lending that much-needed helping hand and give these deserving artists a little boost.
The Support Acts with the most views in each of the four groups will be crowned the winners and enshrined as Australia’s next big thing in their genre. The four winners will receive mentoring from their hero artists, be provided with a studio session and will perform at the 2018 Universal Music ARIA Week Showcase in front of some of the industry’s biggest execs and talent, in addition to being live-streamed across the country.
Head to www.youtube.com/ExtraSupportActs to find your new favourite musician and make your vote count by watching all the way through.
Voting is open from 16 August through to 30 September 2018.
