Spoil your pooch this weekend!

Let’s be honest, a coffee date is fine, but it’s even better with your pooch. Manoeuvring your furry human can be toughest at the best of times, especially knowing when and where you can and can’t go.

Here’s a little list of cafes that love those four-legged mates, with some taking that affection up a notch.

Sodi Café

Named after the owner’s beloved chihuahua, Sodi on Pakington Street caters to not only your tastebuds but also your pooch’s. With a spacious outdoor courtyard and seating out the front, Sodi has your fur baby catered to with their epic puppycino’s and pupcakes, served lovingly on the cutest little board. Just have a scroll on their Instagram to see all pooches living their very best life at this café. They can even organise pup-birthday cakes too if you really feel like spoiling your best friend.

For the humans, there’s endless opportunities for doggo pats, Ocean Grind coffee and a flavoursome menu catering for every type of foodie.

Sweet Adeline Cafe, Newtown

Whether you’re keen to hit the walking track or just after a relaxing arvo by the river, Sweet Adeline Cafe is the perfect pop-up you and your pooch need to swing by.

While never failing to hit the cravings for humans with yummy treats and delicious beverages out of a vintage caravan, your furry friends get to indulge too with a dedicated filtered drinking fountain for parched doggies as well as treats and lovingly crafted puppacinos.

They’re even welcoming the summer heat with Puppy Pool Parties and refreshing drinks, plus picnic mats, free for families and their pooches who want to enjoy their food and drinks on the river bank. Whilst there, don’t forget to say hello to their new fur baby, Peach. Recently adopted from New Castle Dog Rescue, this new addition to their river family will melt your heart.

Untitled

Untitled is a café we’ll never fall out of love with – especially with their famous bagels, piping hot cups of coffee, made with their own specialty blend ‘Glory Days’ and a renowned love for doggos, big and small.

They’ve got a great little courtyard perfectly suited to pooches, frothy puppachinos, a doggy treat jar filled with complimentary treats, as well as an extra lot of treats from local The Grazehound.

Where: 197 Yarra Street South Geelong.

King of the Castle

The reigning king of great coffee and desserts, Pakington St café King of the Castle is actually one of the best spots for dogs in Geelong. With plenty of space outside, bright turf and a marquee, many dogs have had a damn good time here. Oh, and their owners too of course.

Never failing to hit the cravings whether you’re into sweet or savoury, your furry friends get to indulge too with their lovingly crafted puppycinos.

The Salty Dog

You couldn’t call a cafe this and not be dog-friendly, could you!?

A café located right on the beach, this one is perfect for you and your pup’s morning coffee. There’s nothing like soaking up the view over Fisherman’s beach with a selection of breakfasts, beverages and cakes. You’ll find a tonne of water bowls scattered around the place as well as puppaccinos and plenty of space to stretch their little legs. Salty dogs are always welcome.

In case you needed another reason to go though, the cafe is actually hosting a ‘Pooch Parade’ on Sunday, May 30. With a $5 entry fee, prizes are available for the best dressed pooch, best dressed combo pooch and owner, and for pooch with the best trick, with all proceeds going towards GAWS. How absolutely brilliant.

Box Office

This cafe is just off Pakington St, and conveniently operating out of a shipping container on a wooden deck makes it pretty darn dog friendly. Sit down with your pooch, give ‘em a pat and enjoy your coffee.

The best part is though, the cafe is now open late for dinner and drinks, meaning you and your pooch get a café-grade coffee – or a glass of wine – at any time of the day. A big glass of vino on the deck with your furry friend? Say no more.
