Jackmann releases first single 'Not A Bad Person'

‘Not A Bad Person’ is the first release from Jackmann, the moniker of Melbourne artist Kris Schroeder, and is an honest and veracious reflection of the making of human beings in love… as people who may have done some bad things, but it doesn’t make them a bad person. It’s about not being perfect and making mistakes, but these mistakes and imperfections derived from good intentions. Ultimately, it’s a love song.
Written entirely in six weeks last year in Mongolia, and recorded shortly thereafter with a group from London, this track is raw and real. Without any overdubs or edits, every instrument including the vocals was recorded straight to tape in one take. With it’s solid, steady beat, you couldn’t get it any rawer if you wanted to.
Upon its release, it garnered reviews comparing it to a sobered-up Tom Waits, The Eels, Beck and even ‘Vaudeville- grunge’.
