A documentary exploring Melbourne’s love for music will premiere the Melbourne International Film Festival

KEWL Studios’ director and filmmaker Tobias Willis and music journalist Marcus Rimondini will premiere their feature-length documentary Now Sound: Melbourne’s Listening at this year’s Melbourne International Film Festival, showcasing Melbourne’s rich live music culture with a specific focus on venues within the inner-north suburbs.
Guided by a plethora of culturally relevant artists, the film focuses on the vibrant music scene of Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs over the past two years.
Featuring a number of interviews with artists and industry professionals and live footage from a huge slab of gigs from the past couple of years, Now Sound documents the trials and tribulations that constantly threaten to demolish Melbourne’s iconic music culture and the unending passion that revives and sustains it. Music is the voice of culture; Now Sound is a documentary about listening.
