Sabrina Robertson wins The Lighthouse Award

Joining an impressive list of previous honourees including Charlotte Abroms, Jen Cloher, Bonnie Dalton and Bernadette Ryan, APRA AMCOS is proud to announce Sabrina Robertson as The Lighthouse Award recipient for 2018.
Established in the memory of Linda Gebar, The Lighthouse Award grants $5,000 to support the professional development of a female manager based in Victoria.
Sabrina runs music management and publicity company, Maths & Magic, and currently manages up-and-coming Melbourne songwriter Alexander Biggs. She is fully immersed in the music industry with her current full-time role as Creative Coordinator at Native Tongue Music Publishing, and is editor of Victorian music blog Mismatch.TV.
Upon receiving the award, Sabrina said, “It is an honour to be associated with Linda Gebar’s legacy, and to follow in the footsteps of all the amazing past recipients—managers who have and continue to inspire me. It’s an incredible feeling to have my management work acknowledged this way, and I’m very grateful to the team at APRA AMCOS.”
The Lighthouse Award represents APRA AMCOS’ commitment to addressing the gender imbalance within the music industry and encouraging women to pursue a career in music.
The award itself is in memory of Linda Gebar, who died tragically in 2008. She was one of the few female managers in the 90s, and worked with The Killjoys, Frente and The Blackeyed Susans. A passionate believer in local music, Linda was a mentor and colleague to many. The Lighthouse Award exists to continue the work of Linda Gebar, and support a forward-thinking female manager who is dedicated to Australian music.
We are foreseeing some amazing things to come from Sabrina in the years to come! Congratulations from the Forte team.
