This June is set to be a big one with a double threat hitting venues in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Asha Jefferies’, at the fresh age of only 18 is killing it on the music front and her newly released single, ‘chaos’, zooms into the sensitive, true realities that arise following the demise of a relationship.
Pairing exemplary acoustic romanticism with smooth guitar chords behind bold lyrics screaming of reminiscent metaphors, Jefferies’ creations stand well beyond her years. Jefferies’ has had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists such as Stella Donnelley, Thelma Plum and Ella Hooper and found herself nominated for a QMA in the singer songwriter category, winning the triple J Unearthed NIDA competition.
Making her initial tracks in WA, emerging artist, Elli Schoen is growing in leaps and bounds. Shaking her groove on the festival circuit, Schoen has gained a fan base at Perth International Arts Festival, WAM Fest, SOTA Festival, Wave Rock Weekender, Rottofest and very notably, Falls Festival, Falls Downtown after being picked up triple j unearthed.
Releasing her anticipated sophomore EP, Gold Mess, in 2017, triple j and Rolling Stone Australia were quick to show praise for many of her singles. Now with her forthcoming single, ‘Shark’, Schoen delivers to her listeners a raw picture of love and loss drawn from deeply personal experiences through her gravelly, beautiful vocals which are sure to leave audiences in absolute awe.
