Josh Pyke Partnership Opens For 2018

Josh Pyke, in conjunction with APRA AMCOS, is bringing back the Josh Pyke Partnership for a fifth year in 2018, awarding a lucky Australian musician with a $7500 grant to kick-start their music career!
In addition to the financial reward, the winning artist will receive mentorship from Josh Pyke himself, Gregg Donovan (Wonderlick Entertainment) and Stephen Wade (Select Music).
The partnership requires the winning artist to establish and execute a business plan, which will support the progression of their music career as a means to truly assist emerging artists in the best possible way.
Last year’s winner, Angie McMahon, has gone from strength to strength since receiving the award. The Melbourne based singer/songwriter has gone on to play at some amazing festivals including Secret Garden, Laneway and NYE On The Hill. Coming up in 2018 she’s set to open for industry heavy weights Angus & Julia Stone and Alanis Morisette.
“This prize had a huge effect on my year because it meant I could pursue the professional goals I’d set for myself,” says Angie. “The vote of confidence from Josh Pyke and APRA helped people believe in my music, which is very powerful, and I’ve been busy pursuing opportunities since receiving the prize. It felt like I’d been passed the relay baton, and then I was off and running.”
To enter, applicants must not be signed to a recording or publishing company and must submit a business plan outlining how they would use the $7500 grant.
Entries are now open and will close at 5PM AEDT on March 31, 2018 with the winner being announced 8 June 2018.
