One to try: The Breakwater Hotel

The Breakwater Hotel, or “The Break” as the locals know it, has long been renowned for serving Geelong’s coldest beer, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The Friday Night Raffle, TAB and Keno facilities, big screens, pool table, beer garden and the Thirsty Camel Bottle Shop make this your all in one family pub. But how about a meal?

From the pub classics such as the mixed grill, schnitzel, parmi’s, rissoles (it’s the seasoning!) and even the classic ham steak and pineapple, through to delicious entrees such as bacon, mustard and cheese bread, hot and spicy chicken wings, and bacon and scallop skewers, even the most fussy of diners will be stopped dead in their tracks.

Kids meals are only $8 and the regular specials are great value at $19.90 for a 300 gram Porterhouse with a pot on Tuesdays, a pot and ‘Parmi from around the world’ at a crazy $17 on Wednesdays, and a pot and pasta only $17, served on Thursdays. The value cannot be denied!

These meals ain’t on the small side either. The ‘Break Burger’ with the lot for $15 is one massive meal – real old school, big patty, big bloody everything. Two hands are most definitely required! The Break Kick Arse Steak Sanga is a beast, and at $16, your money is very well spent.

Open everyday of the week, let Andrew and the friendly staff take care of you while you relax in one of the last remaining ‘local’ pubs.
