Your must-see guide to A Day on the Green

The ‘90s are making a roaring comeback with a monster rock line up at A Day on the Green. The nation-wide tour is bursting with alternative powerhouses such as the Living End, The Lemonheads and Tumbleweed. With classic indie rock anthems, you’re not going to want to miss this epic day in the great outdoors. Before A Day on the Green rolls around, check out the award-winning bands rocking Mount Duneed in March.

The Living End
One of the most captivating Australian bands in the nation, The Living End won 5 ARIA awards and have been nominated 27 times. Their debut album dominated the charts when it dropped in 1998, releasing hits including Prisoner of Society, All Town Down and West End Riot. In the twenty years since, The Living End have continued to be a force to be reckoned with and now they’re back in their Aussie backyard after a massive US tour.

Spiderbait
The band is making a comeback after thrilling audiences at their first A Day on the Green. Boasting 5 top 20 albums, 2 ARIA awards and their chart-smashing cover of Black Betty, Spiderbait are truly something else. A Day on the Green is stoked to welcome back Spiderbait, who will be bringing their musical alchemy on another lap of the winery circuit.

Veruca Salt
Since releasing the beloved ‘90s rock hit Seether, Veruca Salt rose meteorically in the charts and received immense critical acclaim. Their gold-selling debut album, American Thighs, dominated the charts with over a million record sales. The band’s original line up reformed in 2013 and released their fifth studio album Ghost Notes in 2015.

The Lemonheads
Leading man Evan Dando made his name as ‘90s rock royalty in his second home of Australia. Born out of the primordial chaos of varying configurations, The Lemonheads hit their Golden Age in the ‘90s. Their 1993 album Come on Feel the Lemonheads was a blast of pop perfection, reaching number 19 in the ARIA charts. Evan is returning to Australia and bringing melodic masterpieces such as The Great Big No and It’s a Shame About Ray to A Day on the Green.

Tumbleweed
Straight outta Tarrawanna, Tumbleweed defined ‘90s stoner rock when their self-titled debut album dropped in 1992. With thundering riffs and hard-driving beats underlining tracks such as Sundial and Gyroscope, Tumbleweed landed the prestigious support slot during Nirvana’s only Australian tour. Their classic second album Galactaphonic hit the ARIA top ten and secured Tumbleweed as a beloved Aussie band.

The Fauves
With their wry and witty lyrics satirising Australian themes, The Fauves were the best band to emerge from the Mornington Peninsula since Australian Crawl. The Fauves have 11 studio albums under their belt, including Dogs are the Best People and The Young Need Discipline, and an ARIA nomination for the 1996 Future Spa. Nearly 30 years later, the Fauves are continuing to do what they do best.
