New film festival will see local films shown on the big screen

A new short film festival is being launched in Geelong by a group of local creatives involved with Geelong’s community radio station, 94.7 The Pulse. The Pulse Film Festival will see local filmmakers compete for the chance to have their film shown at the Pivotonian Cinema and at Pako Festa, and there will also be cash prizes of $500 for four winning films. The theme for the film festival is “Reflections of Culture”, which entrants can interpret in a variety of ways.

So what should your film include? The festival is looking for 1 – 3 minute films about the things make up a person’s unique cultural identity. That could be your family, friends, the food you eat, your school, work, your sport, hobbies, the things you watch, read and make. The idea is to encourage local film makers and people who have never made a film before to get their smartphone, or whatever film making devices they have, and make a movie.

Entry is $10 per film and closes 15th of December 2017
Details are available at thepulsefilmfestival.com.au or by phoning the Pulse on 52225947.
