Victoria is an awesome state, with amazing people, wildlife and landscapes. The Grampians Music Festival aims to celebrate all these things – everything that makes Victoria ‘the place to be’ – and this year is no different, with the tasty addition of some help-me-I’m-going-weak-at-the-knees food and drink―including boutique produce, beers, wines and spirits that will be running rampant over the festival weekend (and guilt-free over your waistline).
For those of you who like to dabble in wines, you’ll regret skipping past the wines Blue Pyrenees has to offer. All of their drinks are made from grapes grown in their own vineyards and produced in their estate winery, making their wines some of the very best Victoria has to offer. They have an eclectic array of wines, from reds and fortifieds to sweet and rose.
If wine doesn’t tickle your proverbial fancy, perhaps some beer will? Otway Estate Winery and Brewery are the proud producers of the Prickly Moses Handcrafted Beers range and Forbidden Fruit Ciders, both of which are perfect for a cheeky drink over the festival, particularly if it’s going to be warm!
If spirits are more suited to your palate, GMF will be offering some premium dry gin under the guise of eponymous Patient Wolf. Patient Wolf boasts hand-crafted premium gin, a spirit made with ‘equal parts expertise and attitude’ that never fails to serve ‘controversy’, shaken, possibly stirred, or classic cocktails.
The people at Patient Wolf consider themselves guardians of cocktail culture, and with a status like that, festival goers would be crazy to miss out on some of the modern-classics they have on offer.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for something more edible to throw down the hatch, GMF has no shortage of food available. The Hippie Whippy will be making an appearance with some classic ice-cream flavours, or if you’re currently having a love affair with caffeine, Great Coffee Moments will be one of the stops you have to make. If your cravings are for something more savoury, though, Spirit of Punjab will be bringing a tasty range of Indian cuisine and Bring ‘n Braii will be offering some authentic South African dishes. I’m sure many of our dear readers will also find it difficult to walk past Bambino Wood-fired Pizzas, which offers old favourites and some modern flavours.
Some more low-key but in no way less tasty options will also be available, such as a European BBQ, serving traditional Turkish gozleme with a huge variety of fillings, like chicken or lamb with cheese or spinach. Julie’s Gourmet Kitchen will be offering mouth-watering, slow-roasted and pulled meats served in rolls with fresh salad, and the classic combination of hot dogs and hot chips. And of course, there will be a sausage sizzle that will offer some refreshing icy poles for the kids!
GMF will be showcasing some great sounds, sights and tastes ― anything to entertain your senses and your good selves, and that’s what makes it an event you simply cannot miss.
