Geelong Bandroom is set to open this weekend

The well-known upstairs of Geelong Hotel (previously UNO Danceclub) is getting a revamp and will soon be known as the Geelong Bandroom.

From early December, this multi-use venue will welcome live music and events under the mission ‘to serve & entertain’.

Renovations of the space include upgrades to venue aesthetic slated over coming months, following a recent d&b audiotechnik sound system install by Eventcraft – the production team for 170 Russell and Prince Bandroom – paving way to accommodate more tours, local, national and international acts.

As music lovers, this news alone is bloody beautiful.

At your service are Geelong residents; Peter Oliver (director of From.Us Hospitality & Entertainment Group), Drew Harry (venue manager), Hayden McCrow, Sam Shaw and Mitch Loughnan. James Fava (previous director of Love That Music), and Stretch Cranes from regarded Gold Coast music venue ‘elsewhere’ as entertainment director.

The new chapter begins with MDRN Love’s EP Release and ARIA nominated producer Dom Dolla on Saturday December 2nd, coinciding with launch of a new weekly night featuring bands early and DJs late. Head along and give the guys a warm welcoming to our city.

It will also be the home to Thriller on Saturday nights, a weekly social club featuring bands before midnight and DJs ’til late. Alongside MDRN Love, live acts this weekend include Hiddenite & Fraser Telfer while there’ll be special guests Dom Dolla & Kill Frenzy, alongside locals Mitch Loughnan, Tim Dawson, Steve Toppa, Riley Harman, Paddy Slack, Will Ryan & Justyn Green.

‘Geelong Bandroom’ is located on Level 1, 69 Yarra St, Geelong.
