Award winning stand ups coming to Geelong for one night only

Comedy production house, Stupid Old Studios, are bringing their Amazing Travelling Comedy tour to Geelong, at Beav’s Bar on Thursday 23 November.

In town for one night only, the show will highlight some of the best comics in Melbourne’s scene, including Matt Steward (RAW Comedy winner 2014, Australia, Get it Up Ya! Australia Think Tank), Laura Dunemann (Offspring, Upper Middle Bogan, Triple R, ABC TV), Angus Gordon (RAW Comedy winner 2015, ABC TV) and Jack Druce (Comedy Zone, The Project, You’re Skitting Me).

Matt from Victoria is an accomplished performer, winning the RAW Comedy competition in 2014 and performing sell-out shows at Melbourne Fringe, Perth Fringe World and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016 and 2017. Recently he has appeared on Sammy J’s Democratic Party, Ronnie Chieng’s International Student and Get Krackin!

“This is the third time we’re hitting the road with this tour, we had such a great time in Geelong last time and we can’t wait to spend some more time in your town,” Matt says.

Laura Dunemann however balances death, fear and pop culture in a unique comic style. A regular on Triple R Breakfast and with acting credits including Offspring, Upper Middle Bogan and Fancy Boy, Dunemann is at home with an audience. Her vivacious personality and proclivity for audience banter made her a favourite at the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Teetering between bleak anti-humor and punchy one-liners, Angus Gordon balances whimsy and social critique. Gordon’s comedy often focusses on the violent contradictions that constitute ordinary experience, and a series of little parables he wrote in a diary while going through depression.

Jack began his comedy career in the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Schools program Class Clowns in 2006. In 2007, Druce won the NSW state final of Raw Comedy before going on to win the Raw Recruit award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In 2008, he was one quarter of The Comedy Zone at the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival with the fellow Comedians Tom Ballard, Jacques Barrett, and Lila Tillman. In addition to performing in Australia, Jack is a writer on The Project, and You’re Skitting Me, produced by Jigsaw productions, screened on ABC3.
