The Ocean Doesn’t Want Me is the first album from Surf Coast based band Lucy and the Night Sky. With nine members in band, each song on this album is beautifully crafted experience, with a multitude of elements – something different stands out on each and every listen.
This album is a complex mix of genres; combining jazz, folk and classical to create a unique but immortal sound. No matter where or when, this is an album that will fit any situation. The Ocean Doesn’t Want Me is an album that shows exactly how music is an art form – each song reaches out emotionally and mentally, but also they also allow for listeners to let their hair down and dance.
Lead by Lucy O’Grady, Lucy and the Night Sky is a band who seem to be unable to put a foot wrong; from stunning live performances to this first album, with hopefully much more to come. This is a band of artists who love making music and it shows in their sound.
The Ocean Doesn’t Want Me is an album that deserves to be listened to, even if it doesn’t seem like your thing.
